Accelerator Spotlight: Terri Ann Heiman

Sometimes people fall in your lap in the wildest ways. 

Terri Ann Heiman landed in the LIGHTbeamers world after hearing me speak in a Clubhouse room (which is hysterical to me because this was one of only a handful of times I've actually played on Clubhouse). 

We immediately connected via DM and began a conversation around Terri's desire to get her story out to more people and grow her visibility around her work as a Spiritual teacher and mentor. 

The tools of her trade have been so helpful in healing and navigating her own life, she is passionate about getting this information to more people! 

Over the past year, it's been really fun to watch Terri implement the story techniques we teach inside our Visibility Accelerator and explore being more authentic and vulnerable with her audience. 

I've noticed a big change in how Terri approaches her online messaging on her social channels and in her weekly Podcast. She also used amazing storytelling to launch her most recent project, the Empowered Spirit Tarot deck! 

So it's with great pleasure we feature her this month on our Accelerator Spotlight blog! 

I know you will enjoy getting to know Terri as much as I have! 

APRIL: You've learned so much about storytelling this past year, tell us a little more about your story! 

TERRI: My work in the Healing Arts began by making jewelry with crystals and stones. My jewelry was sold in high end boutiques in NYC and the Hamptons. My hands were blessed by Shamans for my beading work in making sacred objects. Without even knowing it, those same blessings led to my first Spiritual teacher after my husband of 13 years announced he was in love with another woman.

In that moment, the universe stood still as I heard myself ask.. "Who was I. Who had I been listening to? Not me. Not my spirit."

Those thoughts changed my life…
The path I’d been on came to an abrupt end in the matter of a few minutes.

My partner, my soulmate, the man I thought I’d spend the rest of my life with had been having an affair with a woman at his office. I couldn’t believe it was happening to me. I found myself lost. Afraid. And in need of major help. I had two small children that needed me. I knew somehow I had to not only survive but also dig deep inside and find my courage to move forward.

I went to several therapists. That helped get the issues up front, but I still wasn’t reaching deep enough. I was so stuck in my own fear, I didn’t know how I was going to pull out of this. I was alone, scared and crying every day.

Once I met my spiritual teacher, the guidance came pouring in. I started removing the blocks and let the past go. I learned about my empathic nature and my Intuitive abilities that had also been buried underneath it all.

I went deep within and found that force inside. My spirit wasn’t just there…it was screaming to come alive and find its way back into my life.

You see, everything is energy. It’s just that some things are denser than others… like pain, fear, and suffering which are root causes of our suffering.

Now, almost two decades later, I am here to help you find your Spirit and dig deep inside. I’m here to help you come out from underneath it all and make that transition back to your life… energetically…through change. Just a little movement, even a small change, can spark the fire in you to breathe the air and ground your existence with the ebb and flow of the waters of life.

Even just moving a little energy begins a ripple effect. This effect, like a pebble in a pond, ripples out and creates movement, taking you to a new place.

My greatest purpose now is to help guide you back to your spirit, no matter how stuck and uncertain you are and no matter how big the block may be.
It’s not your typical talk therapy that I am using.
It’s ENERGY. It’s the root of our existence.
It’s the force within us that propels us each and every day.

When you take the time to go within and align with your inner guidance, your Spirit, you will build the confidence you need to move through all the transitions life offers you.
I am here to guide you within and teach you the tools and techniques to build this confidence.

APRIL: How has 'storytelling' influenced you and/or your business?

TERRI: Storytelling has influenced me to be vulnerable, to tell a story about myself that teaches a message with depth rather than just teach by lecturing.

APRIL: What does being a LIGHTbeamer mean to you?

TERRI: A LIGHTbeamer is someone who beams their light while shining light along the way.

APRIL: What have you learned or discovered the most about storytelling and your story?

TERRI: I have lots of stories within me. My life has been rich and full with lots of experiences and many haven't been the easiest for me. However, they have all led me to growth and the work I do today.

APRIL: What's been the hardest part about learning how to share your story?

TERRI: The hardest part is trusting that it is ok to be vulnerable. Telling my story doesn't weaken who I am. It makes me stronger and more likable and real to others.

One of the other things I've noticed about storytelling, is that details are interesting but learning how not get lost down a rabbit hole by rambling away and forgetting my point is an important aspect to good storytelling.

APRIL: What is one piece of advice you'd give to another woman about using her voice and sharing her story?

TERRI: The more vulnerable you are in sharing your story, the more others will relate to you. It will make you real and human. Vulnerability is a good thing.

APRIL: What do you love most about your work?

TERRI: I love seeing people being empowered by taking charge of their own energy.

APRIL: What are you busy creating now?

TERRI: I just finished creating The Empowered Spirit Tarot deck which is a Tarot deck that can help you go within, ask questions and listen to the answers that come from your own intuitive guidance. It is one of the tools I teach as part of my Empowered Spirit Private Mentoring Program. My Empowered Spirit Private Mentoring Program has just opened up 5 new spots for the Summer Season.

APRIL: How do you relax after a busy week?

TERRI: I love my salt baths! I surround my tub with rose quartz and put on colored lights to let it all go! Self care is so important.

APRIL: What kind of things do you like doing outside of work? 

TERRI: Being outside in nature. I just got back from 5 days of hiking and camping through the crystal mines of Arkansas. Mother Earth can teach us so much! I love getting quiet and just listening to her.

APRIL: How have you benefited the most by being a member of our VIP Membership, The Visibility Accelerator?

TERRI:  You have offered amazing guidance in helping me to tweak my work by finding the confidence to tell my stories. You have shown me that I have a natural ability to tell stories and how to bring them forward. Sometimes it can be hard to trust yourself, so when someone comes along and offers comments to keep going and small changes to make, it really helps to build the confidence to do just that.

Also, I've gotten better with being at ease on live video and not feeling like I have to script everything.

APRIL: What sort of special achievements or accolades are you most proud of?

TERRI: 
Professionally speaking, I am an Ordained Minister of Spiritual Counseling, a Reiki Master Teacher, and President of the Reiki Association of the Southeast
